ClearEdge Power Signs $500 Million Multi-Phase Agreement

In what is being called the largest deal of its kind, Oregon startup ClearEdge Power has inked a $500 million agreement to supply fuel cells to an Austrian renewable energy company.
On Tuesday, a company in Hillsboro, Ore., ClearEdge Power, announced a deal with an Austrian company, Güssing Renewable Energy, to supply 8.5 megawatts of fuel cells that would run on methane made from renewable sources.
ClearEdge Power Inc., a closely held maker of stationary fuel cells, agreed to provide 50 megawatts of its systems to an Austrian energy company, the largest sale of such devices to date.
